The Digiital and Operational Transformation of KAFKAS is a Reality!

KAFKAS, the leading Greek company in electrical equipment sales, lighting, building technology products, and energy management solutions, has taken decisive steps and made significant investments in its digital and business transformation, laying even stronger foundations for its future.

The completion of a major first phase of the project “ATLAS,” the name given to KAFKAS’ digital transformation initiative, marks the culmination of months of efforts and vision from all KAFKASians for the company’s business redesign and transformation, as well as the creation of a modern digital ecosystem.

Specifically, KAFKAS, aiming to optimize customer service and guided by international trends and high quality, has invested in top companies and IT solutions. With SAP as its strategic partner and IBM responsible for implementation, the company has adopted an architectural design primarily based on SAP Rise technologies (S/4HANA, IS-Retail, Advanced EWM, CPQ, Success Factor) and the Microsoft ecosystem (Microsoft 365, Azure Data Warehouse/Power BI/ML, CRM D365, Power Automate), all developed in the Cloud.

Moreover, to effectively manage materials and seamlessly integrate the international ETIM standard, KAFKAS has chosen the Inriver PIM (Product Information Management) platform for managing the thousands of materials available in the company.

As part of its business transformation, special mention should be made of the new state-of-the-art distribution center (DC) with advanced facilities, both in construction and operating technologies.

With 16,000 square meters, 13,000 pallet positions, an automatic cable cutting machine, and at the forefront the AutoStore robotic system—an automated storage and retrieval system—combined with a robust modern WMS, the Advanced EWM of SAP, KAFKAS’s new DC allows for increased speed and flexibility in managing a vast inventory of thousands of materials, thus optimizing customer service.

And the journey continues: Our world is constantly changing, technology is advancing, and so is KAFKAS. Even after completing a major segment of digital transformation, the company is rapidly moving forward with the ongoing design of new automations. The creation of a new digital platform for our professional customers, the expansion of the AutoStore system, and the installation of an automatic crane for cable reels are just some of the upcoming initiatives that will enhance services and offer new capabilities to KAFKASians and customers, fulfilling KAFKAS’ strategic vision.
