ELPEN, one of Greece’s leading pharmaceutical companies with over 50 years of presence in both the Greek and international markets, entrusted V. KAFKAS S.A. with the design and construction of key electrical installations for its latest investment. The new pharmaceutical manufacturing plant at the Keratea Industrial Park is a state-of-the-art 10,000 sq.m. facility, specializing in the production of inhalable and solid pharmaceuticals, and employing over 300 people.

The engineers of V. KAFKAS S.A., in collaboration with ELPEN’s technical team and partners, completed the design by leveraging cutting-edge technologies to ensure seamless operation and efficiency.

Contribution of V. KAFKAS S.A.:

Certified Medium Voltage Panel: Consisting of four fields for powering the plant’s three 2000kVA power transformers.

Certified Main Low Voltage Panel: Comprising 13 fields and three automatic transfer switch systems for backup power sources.

Phase B Certified Main Low Voltage Panel: Consisting of three fields.

Smart Building Integration

KNX Building Management System (BMS): Enabling intelligent energy monitoring and control.
Energy Monitoring Platform: Smart power switches with built-in measurement and communication units allow real-time energy tracking locally via HMI or through a cloud-based energy management platform.
Busbar Power Distribution System: Connecting the three power transformers to the Main Low Voltage Panel in the building’s basement, with additional vertical routes for UPS subpanels on the second floor. The compact size, flexibility in direction changes within tight spaces, and enhanced safety of the system were key factors in its selection.
