Market In is a Greek-owned supermarket chain operating in Greece since 1990. Over the past 33 years, it has established itself as one of the top 10 Greek supermarket chains. By 2023, it has a total of 242 stores. This project concerns the implementation of lighting for a new store in Attica, as well as the replacement of existing lighting in over 20 stores of the company.

The Project

The main challenge for KAFKAS was to design an appropriate lighting scheme that would enhance the appearance and aesthetics of both the interior and exterior spaces. The aim was to highlight the aisles, various product categories, and the outdoor area in the best possible way. Additionally, it was crucial to ensure the visual safety of customers and, most importantly, the employees of the stores.

From Vision to Design

The importance of proper lighting in supermarkets is paramount as it contributes to creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for consumers. The experienced and skilled team at KAFKAS was able to showcase both the interior and exterior of the MARKET IN stores in the best possible way, using appropriate lighting techniques based on the space and different product types. Additionally, LED technology lamps were used to help reduce energy consumption and decrease the environmental footprint of the MARKET IN chain.
