Electricity generating sets (Gensets) are small power plants. They can generate power as a prime or back-up source of energy for the electricity grid. For the operation of the Generator, a switchboard for automatic transfer, manual or remote is required.

Open type. The motor and the generator are visible. They are quite noisy, less expensive than the closed type and are dedicated only for internal installation. A generator exhaust system is also needed.
Closed type (with enclosure). The motor and alternator are inside a soundproof cover. They can be installed outdoors, are low-noise and more expensive than the open type.
