KAFKAS was founded in 1975 and has evolved into a leading company in Greece in the field of electrical equipment, lighting and energy management solutions. 1975 marks the beginning of KAFKAS, with the establishment of the company and the opening of the first store in the heart of Markopoulo.
In 2003, the company counts 10 stores with the aim of continuous development and guided by the unsurpassed quality and service of every customer.
In 2004, the company becomes the leader in sales of electrical equipment in Greece, consolidating its position as a leading player in the industry.
In 2006, KAFKAS expands the range of its activities with the acquisition of “Kastrisios Techniki S.A.” and enters dynamically into the field of assembly and manufacturing of electrical panels.
In 2010, KAFKAS now counts 29 stores in its network, continuing its dynamic growth.
In 2012, KAFKAS made a significant move by integrating into its structure the specialized Business Units, MV & LV Panel Building, Lighting Solutions, Building Automation, Energy Solutions, UPS & Power Quality, ICT (Network & Data Centers Infrastructure), Industrial Solutions & E-Mobility, aiming to cover every need with innovative, specialized solutions. In 2013, KAFKAS joins the European FEGIME group, gaining access to global expertise.
It also upgrades its organizational structure by moving its headquarters to new, modern and privately owned facilities.
In 2014, a new manufacturing centre for medium and low voltage electrical panels is developed in Thessaloniki, strengthening the company’s technological infrastructure and production capacity.
In 2015, the company has 49 stores in its network.
In 2018, KAFKAS expands its presence internationally by opening two new stores in Cyprus.
In 2020, its position in the Greek market is further strengthened, reaching 70 stores with the addition of new stores in Attica, Thessaloniki and Komotini.
In 2021, HUB Lighting & Innovation by Kafkas will open its doors in Ilioupolis, Attica. It is a concept showroom specializing in lighting applications & new technologies, with participation in multiple projects of different scales implemented in Greece.
In 2022, with its uninterrupted path to growth, KAFKAS established two new innovative HUB Lighting & Innovation, in Chania and Corfu.
In 2023, marking an important step in the company’s development, the relocation of Thessaloniki’s panel building unit to larger facilities was implemented, enhancing the company’s operational capabilities in electrical board production.
In 2024, the new KAFKAS Distribution Centre in Aspropyrgos will open its doors. Robotic Autostore systems, automated management and cutting of cables, Stacker Crane machine for the management of cable spools are some of the innovations that are at the heart of the new Distribution Center. At the same time, KAFKAS is further expanding its network, now having more than 80 stores in Greece and Cyprus.
