Network Switches

Data Center

Data Center Core Switches

Functionality: Connects all other switches and provides high-speed, low-latency connections for data traffic within the Data Center.

Features: High port density, typically capable of using routing protocols, and designed to handle large volumes of data traffic management.

These switches often come with SFP slots for better implementation of the above functionalities.

Enterprise

Enterprise Managed Switches

Functionality: Combine the features of a classic switch and a router. They allow users to configure and manage various network aspects, such as VLANs, Quality of Service (QoS), and security issues.

Features: VLAN routing capabilities and support for dynamic routing protocols, such as OSPF. Managed via web or command-line interfaces, these switches are used in environments that require routing at the access level.
