At the end of September 2022, KAFKAS played a pivotal role in the completion of a project of exceptional significance and complexity, demonstrating that collaboration between Business Units is not only necessary but also highly effective for such landmark projects. This project was the brand-new Agia Sofia football stadium, located at the historic home of AEK Football Club in Nea Filadelfeia.
The AEK stadium represents a milestone project for KAFKAS’ specialized departments, both in terms of scale and complexity, as well as the unique challenges posed by the strict timeline. To support the safety and seamless operation of all facilities, as well as ensure energy efficiency, low maintenance requirements, and optimal lighting and management results using cutting-edge products, five KAFKAS Business Units joined forces.
Through its specialized divisions—including the Electrical Panel Manufacturing Unit in Athens, the Building Automation Department, the e-Mobility Department, the ICT Department, and its partners—KAFKAS was involved in every step, from electrical infrastructure design to the development of power distribution systems, panels, and more.
Specifically, KAFKAS supplied:

KAFKAS’ Lighting Department supplied all luminaires according to the lighting study, as well as the central management system for these units. The selection of luminaires was based on adherence to the study and the identification of the most cost-effective, technologically advanced solutions. A series of sample evaluations were conducted to ensure the optimal lighting outcome.
Additional factors considered during the luminaire specification process included compatibility with the stadium’s BMS (Building Management System), which centrally controls all operations, and availability in line with the project’s construction schedule. KAFKAS experts prioritized the stadium’s safe operation, minimal energy consumption, ease of material installation, and reduced maintenance requirements.
