The Project

Artemisia Residence is a luxurious 300 sq.m. villa with views of the mountains and the sea, offering 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms. Located in the Akrotiri area, near the old town of Chania, the villa features amenities such as a heated pool, BBQ area, and a large outdoor space. The beautifully designed outdoor areas can be used for various activities. It is the perfect accommodation for those seeking to work remotely, as the bedrooms provide comfortable dedicated workspaces.

The Challenges of the Project

Our goal was to create a comprehensive lighting design plan that enhances the multi-level architectural character of the villa. Through the use of lighting, we “dressed” all the spaces of the residence, from the external entrance to the main interior spaces. One of the challenges we successfully faced was the selection and installation of lighting fixtures that would harmonize with the villa’s interior environment while also promoting energy efficiency.

From Vision to Design

In the villa’s covered entrance, a minimalist lighting approach was applied using recessed ceiling spotlights, gradually guiding the guest toward the main areas. In the interior, the focus was on achieving the right light intensity to create feelings of warmth and comfort for the guests. The lighting color temperature was chosen to be warm white (CCT 2700K-3000K) for all spaces, with the appropriate direction for each area of use. All the fixtures in the new installation were selected using LED technology to ensure energy savings.
