The Project

The 4-star Carolina Mare Hotel is located in the northern part of Crete, in Malia. The goal was to transform the existing hotel complex into a functional and cozy space, achieving harmony between the interior and exterior environments. At the same time, the design focused on energy efficiency, improved lighting quality, and highlighting both natural and artificial spaces.

Kafkas’ Contribution

In the complete renovation of the building, the starting point for the lighting upgrade proposal was the integration of innovative lighting ideas focused on energy saving, applied to both futuristic and distinctly Mediterranean interior and exterior spaces, including rooms, reception, restaurants, and shops.

The overall lighting solution aimed at energy efficiency by using LED technology throughout the hotel. Products such as high-sealing wall sconces for outdoor use were also incorporated. Through smart and cost-effective Relighting interventions, Carolina Mare Hotel was given a unique touch of quality and aesthetics, enhancing the overall customer experience.
