The Project
Forthnet is a telecommunications company in Greece, primarily providing broadband internet services, telephony, and satellite services. It operates its own telecommunications network, including a fiber optic network. Additionally, Forthnet is involved in marketing and shipping services and is the largest private provider in Greece in terms of subscribers.
Kafkas’ Contribution
Kafkas was responsible for designing the physical infrastructure and supplying the necessary components based on the “logical diagram.” The solution included the installation of high-density copper and fiber optic patch panels, along with the provision of telecommunications equipment hosting cabinets and servers, as well as underfloor and overhead cable pathways.
Furthermore, Kafkas provided technical support and implemented a grounding system. The company also conducted the study for the numbering and identification of PDUs. The changes made to the project significantly improved its management and led to a substantial reduction in energy costs. The infrastructure was also prepared to accommodate future technologies and applications.
Lastly, Kafkas ensured the scalability of the project and maximized the return on investment as part of real estate planning.
