The Municipality of Ilida proceeded with the replacement of the lighting at the Municipal Port, investing in the enhancement of services offered to users of the port and its surrounding area.
The project’s objective was both the aesthetic and energy upgrade of the existing lighting through the use of LED technology poles and fixtures. The aim was to achieve energy savings in the area’s lighting and to highlight the value of the port’s landscape and its various uses (fishing shelter, irrigation canal use, tourist attraction, recreational boating service, etc.). The main challenges included the coastal environment, which necessitated the selection of materials with exceptional resistance to corrosion and oxidation. Additionally, the design of the poles and lighting fixtures needed to be traditional to seamlessly integrate with the area.
By conducting a comprehensive study and assessment of the project’s needs, KAFKAS developed a complete lighting upgrade proposal for the area. The solution included the provision of traditional poles and fixtures with LED technology lamps, made from self-extinguishing material (cast resin), protected against corrosion and oxidation from the coastal environment, and specially treated to resist UV solar radiation. The materials used for the poles and fixtures required no maintenance and were made from recyclable materials, environmentally friendly.
The desired upgrade in the lighting of these specific areas was achieved through the installation of state-of-the-art LED technology poles and fixtures, in accordance with current standards and project goals. This resulted in energy savings of approximately 50%, while the products were fully aligned with the architectural character of the project.
