The Project

This project focuses on the aesthetic and energy upgrade, as well as the redevelopment, of the Koroni Port and the coastal zone of the T.K. Methoni in the Municipal Unit of Methoni, Municipality of Pylos-Nestoros, following the destruction caused by the “Zorbas” storm.

The lighting upgrade of these areas was achieved through the installation of poles and luminaires featuring state-of-the-art LED technology, designed to meet the project’s specifications and objectives.

KAFKAS’ Contribution

KAFKAS was the primary lighting supplier for the project, which involved the procurement and installation of traditional-style poles and LED luminaires made from highly durable materials resistant to corrosion—essential for the challenging coastal environment—and UV radiation.

The proposed solution provided illumination for the aforementioned areas using LED technology poles and luminaires made from self-extinguishing material (cast resin), offering protection against corrosion and oxidation, as well as special treatment for enhanced UV resistance. These luminaires require no maintenance and are manufactured from recyclable, environmentally friendly materials.
